New Maglev train | World’s fastest train
Maglev Train
China has launched a new Maglev train. This is the fastest train in the world. It can reach a speed of 600 kilometres per hour. It runs on Electro- Magnetic Force. China’s new maglev train floats in the air above the rails. Electro –magnetism enables the train to have a smooth and friction free motion. China started using this technology around two decades ago but to a limited extent.

What is maglev (magnetic-levitation)?
As a Child you might have played with magnets. You might have got fascinated noticing how the magnets move in opposite directions when they are placed close to each other in a particular manner. Yes, the same principle is used to operate and run these trains.
You, at a later date, might have learnt that similar poles of magnet repel and opposite poles attract. People started using this magnetic repulsion to invent the maglev trains.
Evolution of Maglev train
It all started in the early years of 1900s. The magnetic repulsion between the tracks and the train lets the train suspended in the air. The train is raised up about half an inch above the track because of the magnetic repulsion. These trains get the traction with the alternative magnetic attraction and repulsion powers generated with the technical arrangement of magnets under the rails.
This Electro-magnetic pull and push technology is useful to improve friction free traction. The early experiments on developing trains that run on this platform started in the year 1960 by Britishers. During 1980s, the actual operation of maglev trian started.
The maglev trains move with with magnetic alternative push pull mechanism. so there is no friction, and no loss of energy as well. when compared to motor engine led trains, the maglev has an advantage. there is no need of fuel hence no pollution.
