Before we try to look at the ways to learn English, let me tell you about my journey of learning the language English.
My story
Right since my childhood, I was fascinated with the language English. I was dreaming of speaking English fluently. I dreamt of going to a country where English is the native language. But poor me, all my dreams are left being just dreams because of the family I was born in. The country I live in and the financial condition back then and other factors left me with unfulfilled dreams.
Later, I analysed all the things I had done at the early and later stages of my life. I realised one thing that if somebody wants to learn English, they need not be born in an English speaking country. There is no need of living in a country with English as native language.
People from any part of the world can learn English if they follow the required methodical steps. Let us find out what is the right way of learning a foreign language. Before we jump into how to learn English and the steps to be followed to improve English language skills, lets know…

Listening and Speaking | Ways to learn English
Learning style of new borns
As a baby, we started listening to all people around us; Mom,Dad, Uncle, Aunty, Brother or Sister or somebody else. At this stage, we were not in a position to understand anything and anybody. Then we started to understand the words connecting to the associated gestures. We tried to make up our mind relating to the possible meaning of those words every time. By the time we got the ability of speaking, we already learnt understanding the basic words such as ‘come, go, eat, drink, sing, dance, play, etc.
Learning strategy as a young child
At a later stage, we began to utter those two letter or three letter words and on we went learning some two word combinations and further phrases and so on. By the time we turned 4 or 5 year old, we already began to speak reasonably well and are at a position to understand most of the basic words, phrases and sentences.
Listening comes first | Learn English
So, we learn to listen to the language in the first place and then move on to speak. Let me get to your notice that we learn and begin to use the language at a slow pace and gradually. Further when we go to school, we start learning the associated skills of language i.e. reading and writing along with continued learning of listening and speaking skills. By the time we grow up to be 8 to 10 years old, we almost might have learnt the basics of the four aspects of the language; listening, speaking, reading, and writing (L-S-R-W)
Language Improvement | Tips to learn English
The further enhancement of language takes place at schools. We start improving all four aspects (L-S-R-W) of the language by attending the classes. We keep learning new vocabulary, expressions, idioms, etc. at schools. All of us study the language skills through out our schooling but fail to understand the application of the language in day to day life. How can we overcome this inability of using the language? Is there any way out?
Yes, there is. Read further to know about it.
